PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

Our physicians require patients to be seen at least once per year to renew prescriptions. Changes in your health may affect the efficiency of your prescription medication.
Please call your pharmacy 7 - 10 days before you finish your prescription medication. Your pharmacy will provide us with all the necessary information to authorize the refill of your prescription medication. It is important to call in advance because your physician may want to see you to ensure your medication is working effectively before refilling it.
Please keep in mind that approvals for refills are not always completed by the end of the working day.
Your pharmacy is your best source of information regarding the status of your prescription refill.

TEST RESULTS

Oakdale Ear Nose & Throat Clinic is committed to having patients receive test results in a timely manner. Some of the lab work that you have done may need to be sent to other facilities for processing. It usually takes several days for us to obtain the results of these tests. We will use the following guidelines in notifying you of your test results:
| 1. | If any test requires immediate attention, such as a change in medication or additional testing, our office will contact you right away. Please be sure we have your correct telephone numbers to reach you. | | | 2. | If a follow-up visit with your physician is scheduled within the next 1 - 3 weeks after testing, plan to discuss the test results during that visit. | | | 3. | After your testing, allow a minimum of three working days before calling your physician and nurse for test results. Do not call the lab or test provider to request test results, as they cannot give you this information. Your own physician or nurse is your best source for this information. | | | 4. | If you have not been notified of test results within two weeks, please call your physician. We hope this will rarely be necessary. |
