CT imaging

Computed tomography (CT) of the sinuses uses special x-ray equipment to evaluate the paranasal sinus cavities – hollow, air-filled spaces within the bones of the face surrounding the nasal cavity.

CT scanning is painless, non-invasive, and accurate.

Our Maple Grove and Robbinsdale offices are equipped with state-of-the-art Xoran mini CAT scanners allowing us to capture images of your sinuses and review them with you during your office visit.

Unlike large multipurpose full-body scanners found in hospitals and imaging centers, the MiniCAT is a low radiation dose CT scanner specifically designed to scan the sinuses. MiniCAT scans emit significantly less radiation than sinus scans on a full-body CT scanner.

The scans take only 10-20 seconds depending on the imaging protocol. While full-body scanners can be claustrophobic, MiniCAT allows you to sit comfortably upright in an open, patient-friendly design. Instead of three visits, patient evaluations can be completed in just one visit.

Get your diagnosis during your office exam so that you can begin your treatment and start feeling better faster. Same-day diagnosis may minimize the number of office co-pays depending upon your insurance provider.
